Nowata’s Hometown Christmas…A Community Celebration begins tonight! Join us from 4-6pm on Main Street to see all of the window decorations and lights, old time carolers dressed in their holiday best, and stores open after hours. There will be food trucks with tasty treats and at 6:00 at Spike Park, we will have a community caroling event featuring Nowata students and our Community Choir to lead us singing holiday favorites! Enjoy a live nativity scene and then head over to the Clark Event Center for a first peek at our Holiday Market!

Holiday Market

Our Holiday Market opens for a “first peek” from 7:00 to 9:00pm on Friday, December 12th. There will be vendors selling delicious treats, Christmas gifts, and holiday must-haves! On Saturday, December 13th, the market will be open from 10am-3pm. Santa will be joining us from 10-12 Saturday morning for pictures! From 12am-2pm, visitors can enjoy a free guided tour of Nowata’s beautiful downtown murals!

In addition, there will be drawings for a beautiful, handmade quilt, and a “Butterfly Bench” made by the Beautification committee as well as a silent auction for a 2 for 1 trip to the European destination of your choice, donated by “Go Global” travel in Bartlesville!

Nowata Museum Festival of Trees

The Nowata Historical Museum is hosting its annual “Festival of Trees” with various clubs and organizations decorating beautiful, unique trees for everyone to enjoy and vote on!

The Museum is extending its hours for our Hometown Christmas event, and will be open Friday, Dec. 12 from 10am-6pm, Saturday, Dec 13 from 10am-3pm, and Sunday, Dec. 14 from 1pm-3pm.

As always, the Museum is free to the public, but runs on donations- so please support them with your time and treasure!

Glass Mansion

Visit the beautiful and historic “Glass Mansion”. Home to prominent Nowata residents J. Wood Glass and Eva Payne Glass, and designed by John Duncan Forsyth, this is one of Nowata’s hidden gems! Dressed in its Christmas best, this turn of the century, 4 story mansion is a look back in time from Indian territory days to the present. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.

Nowata Community Choir Cantata “Here We Come a Caroling”

Enjoy seeing the stunning and historical Nowata First Presbyterian Church, built in 1908 and home to the oldest stained glass in the entire state of Oklahoma! In addition to the beauty of the building, you will be treated to the voices of our community choir celebrating the season with their “Here We Come a Caroling” Christmas cantata! This is a real treat that will leave you feeling the spirit of the season- and it is free to all!
