The Nowata Star!

The Nowata Star was first published on Oct. 4, 1917 and continues today as a weekly newspaper serving Nowata County with a 2,800 circulation.

The Nowata Star is owned and published by Reid Newspapers, who also publish the Vinita Daily Journal, the Grand Laker, the American, the Oologah Lake Leader, the Grove Sun, the Miami News Record, and the Delaware County Journal, along with several other Oklahoma newspapers.

The Nowata Star is routinely recognized by the Oklahoma Press Association for Division 6 weekly newspapers and earned awards in feature and/or news writing in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

We are so grateful to have a local newspaper to keep us informed about local events and highlights! Thank you to the Nowata Star for their longtime Chamber membership and look for the travelling banner in their window!
